We’ve been having some record breaking heat here in the NW over the last few days. Today we were as hot as Phoenix, AZ. Of course there is no better place to beat the heat than behind one of our wakeboard towers…
Meet Kyle. He has been boarding for about four months. You would never know it by the air he is getting! He obviously has some natural talent!

colorado-texas-swimming-731After posting the blog introducing you to Mason, (Samson’s mascot/supervisor) I thought about how much of the basics you might not know about us.  So it makes sense to start at the beginning…with a pic of Samson Sports itself. Affectionately known as “the shop” it’s Mason’s kingdom and where our towers are made, start to finish. No we don’t import our parts or have the labor done overseas.  Our wakeboard towers and accessories are 100% AMERICAN made.  We are proud of the products we build and wouldn’t put our logo on it for anything less.  We are located in a small town on the Washington side of the Columbia River just outside of Portland, Oregon. We are close to Lacamas Lake and of course the Columbia River (two of our favorite haunts  and where we like to fly behind our own wakeboard towers, FYI). We have been in a couple of different locations around town as we have grown but this is the permanent home of Samson.  There are multiple garage bays on either side to accomodate the multitude of different boats we work on.  The shop was custom designed for us, just like we make our custom designed wakeboard towers for you!  Pretty sweet tower out front too! …and, oh yeah, and the boat is pretty kickin too.colorado-texas-swimming-731.

Thought I would post an appreciation email we got from our customer in CA along with several pics that he sent in.  Of course getting kudos is always nice (we do work really hard for those, but that comes naturally) but we also get a real kick out of hearing how our towers are being used to promote quality FUN family time.  Thanks John for the email and the pics!

Hi Scott,

I would like to thank you and your team very much for the outstanding service and pleasurable experience of purchasing and installing your Saber Tower on my boat in Southern California.

I had hoped to find a tower company here locally to build and install a tower on my 24′ open bow family boat. I was not able to find a tower that I liked or would fit my boat with out replacing the bimini with a smaller one. After days of internet research and talking with more than 10 tower companies all across the country, I chose the Samson Saber tower. I really appreciate all the time you spent with me on the phone educating me on towers. The confidence you have in your product and guiding me through the installation really made a difference.

Tia was most helpful keeping the order straight and working out the delivery around my vacation. Randy was very helpful with some of the finer points of the installation.

The tower fits the boat perfectly and I think that it looks great. I have attached 15 photos of the installed tower, with and without the bimini, if you notice anything that I have missed please let me know. I have also included 4 pictures of my three kids enjoying the tower for the first time we all loved it.

I look forward to trying out your flag holder, as I learned today the holder we currently have at the rear of the boat is now susceptible to being hit by the rope.
Thanks again,

John

Not not really a wakeboarding dog but come to Samson Sports and likely he will be the first to greet you.  Scott’s yellow lab, Mason, is a fixture there and if he could talk he would tell you about all the hard work that goes into building those wakeboard towers, not to mention a couple of stories about the crew there that would have you doubled over.  Mason carefully supervises (or so he thinks) everything that goes into building the best custom designed wakeboard towers.  Though he may act like it, Mason is rarely starved for attention.  Of course Mason may not wakeboard but he does play a mean game of fetch, so do throw him a ball if you ever are in the neighborhood.  dsc008361
